About Dr. Lee

Dr. Sean H. Lee is a podiatric physician specializing in comprehensive foot and ankle surgery and podiatric medicine. His background in medicine and science and exposure to multiple cultures allows him to accommodate patients from many different backgrounds.

Born in Taiwan and raised in the United States, Dr. Lee is bilingual and fluent in English and Mandarin/ Chinese. Spending his youth in Southern California, he later attended the University of California, Santa Barbara, where he received academic achievements. Majoring in Pharmacological science, he is well versed in biochemistry and molecular biology in the Science of Medicine.

After graduating from college, he participated in neuroscience research, focusing on diabetes and its involvement in the central nervous system degeneration via inflammatory pathways. He has participated and presented in the Society for Neuroscience international conferences, focusing on neurophysiology and neuroimmunology.

At the conclusion of his research career in academia, Dr. Lee proceeded to earn his medical degree, Doctor of Podiatric Medicine, from Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science in Chicago. Upon completing his medical education, he completed a comprehensive internship and three-year podiatric surgery residency at Central Virginia VA Healthcare System at the Hunter Holmes McGuire Medical Center, and partially at the Virginia Commonwealth University Healthcare System, in Richmond Virginia.

During his training, Dr. Lee received extensive experience dealing with acute and chronic foot and ankle injury, chronic arthritis conditions in the foot and ankle, complex reconstructive surgery, acute and chronic ankle conditions and treatments, diabetic care, and complex wound care/ management- including diabetic ulcers, venous ulcers, and lymphedema-related conditions.

After completion of his training, Dr. Lee moved to Portland, joining Eastside Foot and Ankle. While Dr. Lee can help patients with all types of ailments that affect the lower limbs, he has specialized in athletic injuries, ankle procedures, trauma, complex reconstruction, advanced wound care, and limb salvage.

Dr. Lee maintains strong communication with his patients before making an informed decision on the treatment strategy. He firmly believes the physician and patient must work together for an effective, comprehensive, and successful treatment plan.

Outside of the clinic and the operating room, Dr. Lee enjoys spending time with his wife and family. He enjoys trying a variety of different cuisines, hiking trails, drawing, cooking, cycling, photography, Judo, and reading. On his time off, he often makes time to head out to the beach.

He resides with his wife and family in Portland, Oregon.
